Intro
With twenty embroidery projects for you to have a go of, this book marries a love of reading fantasy romance novels with the creative task of embroidering elements from them. This is pure allowed indulgence - all written by an artist who shares your own love of this literature genre.
The author
A self taught embroiderer, drawing was always this artists favourite tool of choice, until she came across embroidery. Based in the USA.
What is Romantasy?
I missed a real description of the genre in the beginning of this book, however there is a note by the author at the start, so maybe this should have been enough for me!
Romantasy is simply Romance and Fantasy merging in usually a book form. However in this case, we are seeing the embroidery depictions.
Inside the pages
This book has all the initial teaching sections you will need to begin the projects, of which there are twenty. Fifteen of the projects are all ‘in the hoop’, then five other projects are more practical projects, for example the ‘Sun and Moon’ canvas tote on page 101.
The projects themselves are easy, which is a real strong point. Why? I imagine a lot of readers of this genre will be very much fans of expanding their interest into say ‘merchandise’. So this may be an ideal strand of that interest. Make your own merchandise, become a ‘visible lover’.
The patterns for the projects are all housed in real size at the back of the book.
