Reconstructed - Life Stains
Over a certain time period in my life, I accumulated a rather large bundle of underwear. Determined to keep this safe until I could do something with it in a positive way; it was stashed away for a while.
Now it is beginning to raise its head, in new ways.
I have cut up and re-used parts of Knickers, Bras and other Undergarments, to create new garments and fabric.
My favored way to create; is to take each piece apart, cut it, rip it, whatever feels right. I then use these "fragments" to create a new garment or sample of fabric, by sewing pieces together like patchwork.
Other imagery of hand dyed and painted vintage clothing are also illustrated.
I work on instinct and eye; together with sketches and designs on paper.
I am a freelance Fine art and Textile artist.
I teach all over the UK, holding workshops / Masterclasses and giving talks to a variety of groupps; including the Embroiders' Guild.
I welcome commissions and any questions.
I enjoy writing articles for maragzines and hope to publish my own books in the future.
