Within this class, you will learn how to create fused together surfaces using mixed media, fabrics and plastics with hot tools. Materials such as sequins, wax, acetate, voile, tinsel and foils will be used for this explorative task. You will trial bondaweb to trap these items within, which will be ironed – this action makes the surface itself. You may wish to pre-plan the surface, even making a simple scene or pattern. This is such a fun workshop, with so many possibilities – become the child again, ask yourself what if?

The class will last around 1 hour, zoom dependant.
Within the class, Ailish will give a short introductory presentation, then she will lead you through short films she has shot of the techniques themselves. Time for questions and experimentation in realtime is available and offered within the session.
You will leave the workshop session with ideas for development and suggestions to build your personal creativity within this genre.
Both flat pieces and 3D (such as beads) will be available to try with the methods taught.
